February 8th Philanthro Productions Fete to Target L.A.'s Young Adults in Partnership with Komen Race for the Cure®

PINK: Party for the Cure is fourth effort from non-profit aiming to develop next generation of philanthropic leaders

Los Angeles, CA (January 25, 2008) - Philanthro Productions today announced Los Angeles County Komen Race for the Cure® as its first charity partner of the new year. Philanthro Productions will host PINK: Party for the Cure, a charity benefit and pre-registration event for the 12th Annual Los Angeles County Komen Race for the Cure®, at Level 3 in the Hollywood & Highland Center on Friday, February 8th.

With PINK, the Philanthro team will build on its tremendous past success, having donated over $16,000 in event proceeds to partner charities, including The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Invisible Children and Camp Heartland.

During the benefit party, attendees can sign up for the Los Angeles County Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure that will be Saturday, March 15 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Philanthro will co-host a race team with volunteer effort partner The Hopscotch Network, providing a platform for further charitable involvement for event patrons. The event will also feature a special guest speaker to educate party-goers on Komen Race for the Cure®’s efforts to combat breast cancer. Following rave reviews at past events, DJ Tony Collage of Power 106 FM will once again headline the night. PINK’s festivities begin at 9pm; patrons 21+ only.

“This effort represents an important milestone for Philanthro,” said Ian Lee, 25, Philanthro’s co-founder. “Past ventures have proven that we can throw great parties that yield valuable results for our charity partners. With PINK, we’ll solidify our position among the Gen Y set as true educators with the potential to affect social change. We’re measuring ourselves on how many people from the benefit show up on race day.”

“Since its inception in February 2007, Philanthro has been able to connect with socially-conscious young adults in ways few others truly can,” said Anneke Jong, 23, Philanthro’s VP of Marketing. “We’re very proud to continue this tradition as we celebrate our 1-year anniversary this February with PINK.”
